Our America: (IN)VISIBLE | Watch the Full Episode!

In celebration of Hispanic and Hispanic Heritage Month, ABC-owned television stations are presenting a one-hour special, “Our America: (IN) VISIBLE.” Through a series of conversations, Special News examines what the Hispanic and Latino vision looks like in three sectors of society: politics, business, and entertainment and how it impacts overall community well-being and quality of life.

Part One looks at the most visible sector of society: Hollywood. Explores the underrepresentation of Latinos in film and television. ABC-owned television stations speak with industry experts, including Anna Cristina Ramon, co-author of UCLA’s Hollywood Diversity Report. Brenda Castillo, Executive Director of the National Hispanic Media Alliance; “Incanto” producer Yvette Merino; Actors: Wilmer Valderrama, Xolo Maridueña, Francia Raisa and Michelle Ortiz. The segment also features an intimate conversation with reality TV pioneer and Banijay American Chairman Cris Abrego.

Part Two includes an engaging conversation about Latin culture and media exposure between ABC News President White House Correspondent Cecilia Vega and ABC News Reporter Geo Benitez as they share a meal at a Havana Café in New York City.

Part Three is a conversation about Spanish underrepresentation at all levels of government, featuring the nation’s only Hispanic ruler, New Mexico’s Michel Logan Grisham.

Part Four delves deeper into politics, featuring a conversation about bipartisanship, vision, and Latino voters between Latino lawyers, politicians, and former Texas judges, U.S. Congresswoman Silvia Garcia, a Democrat, and former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman, a Republican. This segment also features New York State Senator Jesica Ramos walking viewers in her district, the most diverse in the country, as she shares her thoughts on the importance of representation in government.

Part five examines the vision of the business world featuring Xavier Gutierrez, the first Latino CEO of the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise – the Arizona Coyotes. He shares his thoughts on inclusion and the Latin market.

Part VI explores the disappearance of the Afro-Latino community in society. Dr. Krista L. Cortes, Director of La Casa Latina at the University of Pennsylvania, shares her thoughts on the diversity of cultures that exist within Latin and Hispanic communities.

Part Seven takes us to Riverside, California, where legendary actor and comedian Cheech Marin houses his core collection of Chicano art in the new Cheech Museum. Marin discusses his love for art and the need for a Latino to appear in the art world.
